Greg Abbott has signed a law banning red-light cameras statewide, so what does that mean for drivers in cities across North Texas?Every city is implementing the law differently.The Dallas Morning News reached out to officials in Dallas, Duncanville, Fort Worth, Garland, Grand Prairie, Irving and Plano to ask what drivers can expect. Officials in every city responded to say they've already turned off their cameras and no longer plan to issue tickets.Fort Worth and Garland also won't be accepting payment from drivers fined in the final weeks before Abbott signed House Bill 1631 into law Saturday.On Wednesday, a spokesman for Dallas City Hall confirmed that the city's 52 red-light cameras had been turned off. But officials have not decided whether they will require drivers to pay outstanding fines, Corbin Rubinson said.Dallas was two years into a six-year contract to operate its red-light cameras.
