You mean the price of PRO on the Genetica website right? Because the Reallusion site has a pretty good discount until Thursday. I got mine already and the learning curve is decent. I am a beginner and was concerned about getting Genetica, but my gut told me to buy it now while the price was good. I use Genetica Viewer, but those environment maps it makes are really good.Have any of you used it?What do you think? Not an expert on either. Can't say one is any better than the other but I like them because they use layer functions similar to Vue to make textures. There is a learning curve if you have never created textures with this method but not any more difficult than tools you've already learned to use for machinima in general.With the discount... I would certainly go with Genetica. It may seem confusing to those unfamiliar with the methods used but a little bit of time goes a long way to learning this tool and I am still learning things with both apps as I use them. --------------------------------------------------I LIVE to anymate, irritate and machinamate. It is a totally different way of creating textures so you would need to check it out.You can create normal (bump) maps from the your diffuse image with the free nvidia plugin if you have photoshop.plug in info hereTo me... when I glanced over the feature matrix on their website I saw a lot of nice features in the studio version but its not worth that price to me even at the discount.
