Kaitlyn Cimino / Android AuthorityBattery life woes were perhaps the biggest crux of the original Google smartwatch. When Google launched the Pixel Watch 2, some of the issues were alleviated with more efficient power usage and a fast charging cable. However, the poorly executed Power Saver mode remained, in my opinion, a flawed feature across both smartwatch generations. Fortunately, the Google Pixel Watch 3 finally fixes it with two important changes: auto-on and auto-off.Battery Saver on the Pixel Watch 1 and 2Kaitlyn Cimino / Android AuthorityFeatures like Battery Saver mode should be automatic and seamless, but we found the experience cumbersome on the Pixel Watch 1 and 2 because the mode needed to be enabled manually. When the power gets low enough, you receive a notification that you must actively tap to turn on Battery Saver. Unfortunately, this notification is easy to miss, meaning I was sometimes left with a dead device if I didn’t see my watch’s low-battery alert.Compounding the uselessness, Battery Saver also doesn’t turn off automatically once the device is charged back up. The watch stays in its lower power mode until manually told otherwise. This means I can easily go a whole day with notifications disabled because I forgot to turn Battery Saver mode off once I charged my watch, which is deeply frustrating, to say the least.Battery Saver on the Pixel Watch 3Kaitlyn Cimino / Android AuthorityTo my delight, the Google Pixel Watch 3 introduces much-needed improvements to Battery Saver mode by adding two new settings, which make it behave more like the Batter Saver mode we know on our phones. The first setting lets the watch automatically switch into Battery Saver mode when it reaches 15% battery. This is a no-brainer solution that makes the feature much more powerful. I’ve been testing it, and itHow to Turn On or Off Battery Saver in

Hello virusulI am sorry to hear you are having this issue. First I would check to see what your battery save settings are currently:Hold the menu buttonSelect Power ManagerSelect Battery SaveSelect Low Battery AlertChoose the desired time frame for thisYou will also want to check your Sleep Mode settings, if you notices this after sleeping: Hold the Menu buttonSelect SystemSelect Sleep ModeEnsure Battery Saver is disabledIf there is no change, I would also recommend trying a hard reset on the watch. For this, hold the Light button until the watch shuts off, as opposed to selecting power off. Then power this on again. Have mine set to 12hrs / 1hr gps + music. I assume this is around 10% as GPS+music is estimated around 10hs. Though as general use is between 14-16 days i.e. 6-8% per day it would suggest going on general use of 12hrs that means 3-4%. Happy if mine triggers around 10%. Using this I have never seen it trigger yet and have got as low at 20% befere. If yours is set to the minimum amounts and you still occassionally get this issue, note that there is a sleep profile bug in that if your battery saver is set to on during sleep profile, sometimes when the watch switches off sleep profile it doesn't actually switch off battery saver; sometimes its DND (again if set to sleep schedule). Its random and experience this occasionally about once a month. Just go into control menu and turn off battery saver / DND as required. And maybe you are experiencing this bug rather than a battery saver setting (check your low battery alert setting).Comments
