Great if it were a button in the popup menu same as "copy; take a note: etc". Just highlight, select bookmark, and have it added to a "favorites/bookmarks" folder. Or even another item in the same menu as "favorites" and "collections". 0 Hey, Logos, are you listening? 0 Bookmarking is a much-needed feature. I use Logos on my iPad Mini. When I'm reading at home, I need to mark where I left off so when I'm at church, I can go to the Scripture the preacher is speaking on. Then when I'm back home, I can easily return to my daily reading where I left off. 0 When it comes to electronic books Logos is the only application of which I am aware in which the user cannot create simple bookmarks to facilitate quick access to specific locations in the text of interest to the user. I know you have a Logos workaround of which pride of ownership may have prevented you from appreciating bookmarks in products like Kindle e-books. But the latter is practical while your approach is not. If that statement doesn’t offend you (you did ask for suggestions) then give it some objective thought. I have been reading and publishing e-books since 2010. But I never use Logos bookmarks. Chrome sync enabled for your account, consider using a different Google account on this computer so your time-wasting bookmarks don’t sync over. If you don’t want to do that, at least hide the bookmarks bar. It’s even more effective if you use this computer in a different location than where you use your leisure computer.Find a specific spot on campus, in a coffee shop, or somewhere else you like and think of it as your “office”. (Here are some more study spot ideas) Or pick new locations whenever you like – but don’t use the same room you game in.Don’t have a second computer? You don’t need to go buy a new one just to use this technique. Just use computer labs on campus to do your work.I actually did this quite often in school, and the lack of access to all of my time-wasting programs and bookmarks really helped me. It’s hard to slack off when you’re using a computer with nothing but IE (blegh) and Word, especially if you left your phone back in your dorm.Tame Your Email AddictionThis is one of my worst habits.Instead of focusing on one specific task, I’ll often stare futilely at my email inbox and try to clear it out.The problem is that email keeps coming in all day. And some of it requires careful thought to reply to. Other messages require me to go and do something – schedule a meeting, do some research, etc.By constantly checking my email throughout the day, I’m just switching my focus from one thing to another erratically, never giving myself enough time to truly focus on anything. The solution is to simply block out time for email during the day. One block of time to focus on nothing but the inbox. All other hours of the day are to be spent doing something else, with the email tab closed entirely. While I’m not perfect at doing this, it certainly is effective when I do force myself to do it.Related: Here are some more ways you can conquer your email.Eliminate NotificationsEven when you’ve blocked access to your biggest time-sinks, you’re often bombarded by notifications that keep pulling your focus away from your work and, occasionally, send you down new time-wasting rabbit holes.Solution: eliminate ’em.Turn off all but the essential notifications in Notification Center on OS XGet rid of notifications on your phonePut your phone in Do Not Disturb mode when you’re working (you can set it up so you can still receive calls, either from everyone or just specific people)Don’t keep social media apps and sites open during the day – check them at specific times insteadRemember that changing your focus from one thing to another always carries a switching cost, and those costs add up to many minutes of productive time lost. Each notification you disable gets rid of one more of those switching costs.Take my free productivity masterclassWith a proper productivity system, nothing ever slips through the cracks. The Great Bookmark Vanishing Act: Where Did My Bookmarks Go?

Sure to include an ingredient list. People with allergies won’t even look at your swag without that.Author swag is an item that is both useful and contains your book’s information. It can have pictures of your book(s), your website, your social media, a scannable QR code with a link to a free story or hidden page on your website, and more. The point in author swag is brand awareness. That means it needs to match your author and/or book branding. The colors, fonts, information, and even the item itself should all match. At the bare minimum, include your book and where people can purchase it. As a reader, I also prefer useful or useable swag. Stickers and buttons are items I can use to decorate. Pens and bookmarks are items I use in my daily life. I don’t need more “stuff” for my junk drawer. Other readers might not mind this so much. Where to Get and Design Author Swag Your swag is a form of marketing. If it looks like you made it yourself in Microsoft Paint, then the people you hand it to are going to think your book is of equal quality. Your swag needs to look professional. If you’re going to design it yourself, use a program like Canva to make sure it’s a high-quality image and design. I used Canva to make my business cards, bookmarks, and buttons. If you want someone else to design your swag, start with your cover designer. I had my designer create the images for my merchandise and a few other promotional materials, and she did an amazing job.Good design is more than just a pretty picture. Your swag needs to look attractive and be easy to decipher. For example, a tiny script font isn’t easy enough to read, so
