Are taking a long program over winter. What Is Zwift? Now for the exciting part, let’s start discussing Zwift. Zwift is an online cycling world you can access by using a bike and a turbo trainer or a smart bike. It takes you to a land where cycling is everything, and you can train and race with people worldwide. It’s a training platform where you can do workouts from experts or make your own workout to challenge yourself when it comes to certain goals. There are even 12-week programs to enjoy, and it’s a surefire way to get fitter and stronger.Another big part of Zwift is online racing. This is where you can go into competitions with other cyclists who have a similar power to you and race them on online courses. You quite often see professionals here, and it’s not rare to see prizes and money won.Suppose you don’t want structured training or a race, but you can also just freeride in the world. So when you hit a hit, the resistance increases, and when you go downhill, it decreases. You have to ride a bike indoors just like you would have to outdoors. How Much Does Zwift Cost?Zwift requires a paid subscription. This typically costs around $15 a month at the time we are writing this article. Although it might sound like an extra thing to pay for, it is great value for money. It’s a lot better than other free apps, and they are big into investing money back into the platform. What Do You Need For Zwift?Surprisingly, there’s not much you need for Zwift, and joining the online community is much easier than you might think. Here are the essentials and the accessories where you can improve the experience. RGT Cycling Review: RGT Cycling, the new virtual cycling platform, has announced that it is making all of its Premium features available for free to all indoor cyclists, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. So we had to put Chuck Peña back on his Xpedo home trainer to find out more. When I reviewed the Xpedo APX Pro smart trainer, part of the review included a little bit about different virtual riding platforms. Everyone knows about Zwift. But if variety is the spice of life, it’s good to know that there are other options if you want to ride some different roads than what Zwift has to offer (on any given day, Zwift gives you the choice of riding in Wattopia or one of its other worlds). One such option is RGT Cycling, which is a Zwift-like platform. RGT is free but they also have a paid subscription that offers more features. In response to the COVID-19 aka coronarivus pandemic, RGT decided to make its premium features free (usually £12.99 / $14.99 per month) and is encouraging cyclists and the larger cycling community and industry to join its #rideitout movement. According to RGT founder and CEO Alex Serban: RGT was created to empower all cyclists to ride inside in the same way they ride outside. As the impact of COVID-19 is felt around the world, this mission has become more important than ever and after watching inspiring communities come together to support each other, our need to do everything we can to help became obvious. At a time when focusing on profit would be easy, this removal of restrictions will provide free access for all and, we hope, offer some support to the cycling community. Here are the differences between RGT’s free and paid subscriptions: Go here if you want to sign up with RGT. Once you’ve done that, send a blank email to [email protected] using the same email address you signed up with for free access to Premium features. RGT is similar to Zwift in that there is a screen app for riding and a mobile app for pretty much everything else. Open up both and activate the screen app from the mobile app. You use the mobile app to control what you do on the screen. Then decide what you want to do: Ride any of the RGT Real Roads.Mount Ventoux (on my to do list) – I’ve got a confession to make. I’m a little bit of a Zwift addict. To track my heart rate on Zwift, I primarily use a Series 5 Apple Watch. Having racked up over 1,800 miles / 140 hours on Zwift, I’ve had my fair share of frustrations syncing my Apple Watch! If you’ve come across this page, you’ve probably heard of Zwift already. If not, the elevator pitch is, Zwift is an indoor cycling app that lets you ride and race with other people in virtual worlds. For more information, check out our Zwift setup guide.Depending on which device you use to run Zwift, two options exist for pairing your Apple Watch.Option 1 – Pair Apple Watch To Zwift with iPhoneTroubleshooting TipsOption 2 – Pair Apple Watch To Zwift with iPad (or PC, Mac, Apple TV)Troubleshooting TipsApple Watch Keeps Becoming UnpairedFrequently Asked QuestionsIs the Apple Watch heart rate monitor accurate for Zwift? Can I use other features of my Apple Watch while using Zwift? What kind of data can I track by pairing my Apple Watch with Zwift for cycling?Option 1 – Pair Apple Watch To Zwift with iPhoneIf you plan on running Zwift on your iPhone, this is the easiest way to pair an Apple Watch with Zwift. To get started, install Zwift on your iPhone and Apple Watch.Note – make sure it’s the Zwift app with the orange logo, not Zwift Companion (blue logo). We can get started once you have both iPhone and Watch apps installed.Start the Zwift app on your iPhone and sign up or log in (if you already have an account)Accept any Bluetooth permission requestOn the “Paired Devices” screen, pair your smart trainer – in my case, my Wattbike AtomTap the “Heart Rate” logo, and your Apple Watch should appear. I’d like to have a Route Editor, where i can create my own Routes in Addition to the provided routes from Zwift. For Example when i want to do a 100 km ride, i’ll create my own route in watopia and want to get routed by zwift on this route.I also could imagine to do such own routes including all “zwift world” (if there will be a free choice available one day) or create very long routesere you can proceed the next day where you have stopped bevore.I DON’T want to create complete new courses on my one, but just use automatic routing on individual routs on existing zwift roads. Paul_Allen (Paul) July 12, 2018, 12:43pm 2 Users have been requesting this from the beginning, so hopefully we will get that option some day.
